Malayka Gormally

Co-founder and COO

Malayka Gormally co-founded Concussion Alliance with her son Conor Gormally in 2018 after becoming a knowledgeable and passionate patient advocate for Conor when they developed persisting symptoms after concussion. Malayka Gormally serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Concussion Alliance, overseeing bookkeeping, accounting, and compliance, while collaborating with the team on budgeting. She is the primary designer and webmaster of ConcussionAlliance.org, and collaborates with Conor to edit and update the website. Malayka serves as the executive editor of the Concussion Update Newsletter, the organization’s biweekly newsletter providing accessible synopses of recent research and concussion-related news. Malayka is the author of the website’s most-read resource, Guidelines for Recovery. Subsequently, the abstracts have been published in the journals Brain Injury and The Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation. She has collaborated on the content development and slide deck design of numerous Concussion Alliance presentations for national and international webinars, conferences, and medical school presentations. Malayka worked with Board Chair Elizabeth Sandel, MD, and Conor to develop the content for a Concussion Alliance CME and webinar.

Before Concussion Alliance, Malayka was a serial small business entrepreneur, including a successful career as a visual artist. She spent eight years (in her twenties) cross-country skiing on a regional and national level. Malayka is an alumna of Swarthmore College, Swarthmore, PA.
